It is so easy for us to become entangled in our daily routines that we forget just how valuable we are as individuals.
Maybe you’re stuck in a rut right now and are tired or bored with your everyday routine and you feel like what you do just isn’t important. Or maybe you feel like no one appreciates the work you do and that your talents and abilities go unnoticed and don’t really make a difference. Ultimately, there are tons of reasons we can feel unimportant and forget just how truly important we are in the world.
But think about it for a moment. There has never been and will never be another person just like you in the world. The unique gifts, talents, and abilities you have belong only to you. There is only one you in the world and you have a chance to make a positive difference in the lives of those around you.
You have a sphere of influence that you enter into everyday which gives you the opportunity to impact dozens, if not hundreds of lives. It is up to you to decide what type of impact you will make in the lives you touch today. Not only do you impact the lives of those you directly come in contact with, there are studies that show we are influenced by people as many as four generations away. This means your life will impact the lives of people you will most likely never even meet.
So no matter what is happening in your life right now, I encourage you to take a moment and reflect on all the people who count on you, value you, and need you. Whether it be your coworkers, family, or friends, remember there are many people in the world that need you and your unique set of gifts, talents, and abilities to help them in their lives.
You are important… You are one-of-a-kind…
